Almost everything on the water in the south of Tenerife happens between Los Gigantes and Los Cristianos, on the sheltered south-west coast. Kitesurfing does not. It happens in El Médano, on the south-east corner, and the reason is the wind.
The school sets the day by the forecast, not by your calendar. Treat the booking as a window rather than an appointment, and do not put it on the last day of your stay.
A different island, an hour away
SogniCanarias sits on the seafront at Paseo Nuestra Señora Mercedes de La Roja 26, local 1, in El Médano, Granadilla de Abona. From the marinas of Costa Adeje that is about an hour by road. Practically, this means a kite lesson is a day of its own: you will not combine it with a morning whale trip out of Puerto Colón and still be relaxed about either.
What is the course?
Three hours one-to-one with SogniCanarias costs €180 for one student, and the school is IKO-registered. Inside that price: the equipment, the gear, IKO certification and insurance. The school provides the wetsuit, the harness and everything else; you bring swimwear, sun protection and water.
Three hours or six?
The six-hour course is €355 for one student, with the same equipment, gear, IKO certification and insurance inside it — just under €60 an hour against €60 on the three, so the longer course buys time on the water rather than a discount. The school tags the three hours “best for improvements” and the six “best for intermediate riders”: the choice is a level, not a budget.
Group prices
Group courses are not the same price multiplied by heads — the school prices them separately: nine hours for two students €600, for three students €630. Teaching is in English, Spanish and Italian.

SogniCanarias tags this three-hour course as “best for improvements”, which is a level, not a slogan: it implies you have flown a kite before. If you are starting from zero, say so when you book so the school can put you in the right session rather than the one you happened to click.
The calendar belongs to the forecast
Wind sports depend on wind, and the school sets the day by the forecast rather than by your calendar. Treat the booking as a window rather than an appointment, and do not put it on the last day of your stay. The same logic applies to tandem paragliding above Costa Adeje, which is moved for the same reason — and which is, on this island, the other activity where the air is the product.
What if the wind fails?
The south-west coast is calm when the south-east is blowing, which is the practical use of that hour of driving in reverse. On a written-off kite day the sea options are still there: two hours from Los Gigantes at €28, a first dive at €70, or forty minutes on a jet ski at €65 per machine.
