SUP Board Rental on Na Jomtien Beach — Amara Watersports
A board, a paddle and the calm end of the bay south of Pattaya, by the hour. The club has been on this beach since 1978 and is run by Amara, a former Thai Olympic windsurfer.
Pattaya, Thailand · 1h · ฿300 per board, per hour of rental. Ten hours of board time bought together is ฿2,500. An instructor hour, if you want one, is ฿500. · EN · TH · RU
It's a great place to go paddleboarding. Robert and the staff were super friendly and very helpful. I messaged before I went and they responded quickly. SUP rental was 300B for the hour, which is great value. Highly recommended for a beginner who needs a friendly teacher to a more experienced paddler who wants to be pushed.
What is this tour like?
Na Jomtien is the quiet southern end of the Pattaya bay, and Amara Watersports has been sitting on this stretch of sand since 1978. It is a windsurf club first — the owner, Amara, represented Thailand at the 1980 Olympics and won a Windsurfer world title in Israel — but the simplest thing you can do here is take a SUP board off the rack and paddle.
The price list is one page and it is short: a SUP board is ฿300 for an hour, or ฿2,500 if you buy ten hours at once. There is no membership fee, and rental includes the showers, the changing rooms and the rigging area behind the shop. If you have never paddled, an instructor hour costs ฿500 and the staff have a reputation, in review after review, for going out with people who did not pay for a lesson simply because the water looked rough.
The water here is at its flattest early. Na Jomtien is a wind beach — that is why the kite and wing schools cluster along the same soi — so the breeze usually fills in during the afternoon and paddling turns into work. Take the board in the morning, keep parallel to the shore, and the bay stays glassy long enough for a first hour on a board to be pleasant rather than a fight. If the wind does come up, the same counter rents windsurf gear from ฿500 an hour and a Hobie Wave catamaran for ฿1,000.
What are the highlights?
- ฿300 an hour for the board — the same figure guests quote in their reviews

- Showers, changing rooms and a rigging area come with the rental, with no membership fee
- An instructor can go out with you for ฿500 an hour if the wind picks up
