Snorkeling boat trip with Vietnam Active — two stops in the south

Did my Advanced Open Water Diver and Nitrox Certifications with instructor Thinh after not having dived for 7 years. He made me feel so safe and secure. Our class was small. Just three students for one instructor. Thinh is highly skilled and very calm as an instructor. His instructions are very clear and he is a great teacher. If you're looking for a full-service dive centre where you will get excellent training, I think Vietnam Active won't disappoint you.
What is this tour like?
This is the snorkeling version of Vietnam Active's day on the water: the same boat and the same schedule as the dive trip, without the tanks. Pick-up from the hotel is between 7:30 and 8:30, the boat leaves the harbour at 9:00 and returns between 14:00 and 15:00. The operator describes it as a half-day of surf, sun and snorkeling, with two stops in the water. The boat has a freshwater shower and a platform with a ladder, which makes getting in and out straightforward.
The $35 covers high-quality equipment — a silicone mask, snorkel, fins and a wetsuit — all fees, a light breakfast, lunch, fruit, snacks, drinking water, tea and coffee, hotel pick-up and drop-off, and a snorkeling guide who stays with you. Vietnam Active is a PADI 5 Star centre with 5.0 on Google from 1,278 reviews as of 4 September 2026, and works in English.

“We had an incredible diving experience with Nico Sessario from Argentina. He is an amazing instructor n extremely knowledgeable, professional, and at the same time so much fun to dive with. He made us feel completely comfortable and safe throughout. On top of that, he captured some truly amazing photos for us. We did two dives with him, and both were unforgettable. Highly recommend diving with Nico!”
“It was a wonderful adventure for me as a first timer in scuba. We've seen many beautiful fishes and corals and other seabed inhabitants near little Hòn Kim Quy island just south of Phú Quốc. The opening briefing before we started was quite simple even for those who never dived in their life. Guys on the boat worked as a team and were very helpful and friendly to us. Our scuba master Khoa is a professional and skillfully guided us throughout all our dives, checked our condition and maked sure we won't be lost. The water was clear by the way and the weather was great. I enjoyed my adventures very much, definitely one of the strongest good memories about the Island and Vietnam.”
