The word ‘yacht’ does a lot of unhelpful work in Hurghada. It is applied to a 9-metre speedboat that will have you back at the marina by lunchtime and to a 28-metre hull with a galley and a seven-and-a-half-hour day. The two things cost €240 and €540, they come from the same operator, and choosing between them is a question about hours and heads rather than about glamour.
What does a private boat cost in Hurghada?

€240 for four hours or €540 for the day. ‘Thunder VIP’ is 9 metres, four hours, up to eight guests, with hotel transfers, snorkelling equipment, snacks, drinks and all fees and taxes in the price. ‘Mirage Pool’ is 28 metres from 09:00 to 16:30, up to fourteen guests, and adds lunch, fruit and a private snorkelling guide. Egyptboats prints the unit on its own page: prices are per boat, not per person.
What does that come to per person?
| Boat | Per boat | 4 guests | 8 guests | 14 guests |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ‘Thunder VIP’, 4 h | €240 | €60 | €30 | — |
| ‘Mirage Pool’, 09:00–16:30 | €540 | €135 | €67.50 | €38.57 |
Which is the whole argument for a charter: it becomes cheap exactly when the boat fills. Four people on the yacht pay €135 each; fourteen pay €38.57. At full load the day on a 28-metre boat costs less per head than four hours on the speedboat with four aboard.
How is a charter different from a private tour?

By what the price already covers. Both charters include all fees and taxes and both include hotel transfers — the surcharges that follow you around the rest of this coast are already settled. The private boat tours are cheaper up front, from €100 per boat to €160, but food is excluded on all of them and two of them do not collect you from the hotel. The charter buys logistics as much as it buys deck space.
Both charters are priced per boat. At full load the yacht day works out at €38.57 a head — less per person than four hours on the speedboat with four aboard.
What is not included?
Island entry: €10 per adult and €5 per child, on both boats, paid when you land. On the yacht, diving is extra too — €30 per dive with equipment and a private instructor. Everything else named on those pages is inside.
Can you take a different boat?
Yes. Egyptboats keeps six speedboat hulls on the same list from €160 and eleven yachts from €240. Tell us the group size and the hours you want and we quote the rest from the same list. The operator holds 4.9 on Google from 733 reviews as of 3 September 2026.
Common questions
Do we need a licence?
No — both boats come with the operator’s own crew, and the price is for the boat with the people who run it.
Are transfers included?
Yes, on both charters, and Egyptboats confirms the pickup time. The marina address is 20 Marina Road, Hurghada, if you would rather make your own way.
Is lunch on board?
Snacks and drinks on both; a full lunch with fruit on the yacht only. That, the six extra seats and the extra three and a half hours are what the €300 difference buys.
