The short version

Canary WaterSports runs a 25-minute circuit inside the bay at Puerto Rico for €60 per jet ski with one rider, €70 if two of you share the same machine; life vest, guide, fuel, insurance and all fees and taxes are in the price.

So two people on one machine pay €70 at Puerto Rico for 25 minutes, €80 at Pasito Blanco for 30, and €130 for a full hour along the Maspalomas coast. Atlantic Wake includes the photos and, subject to availability and advance booking, transport from your hotel; Canary WaterSports sells photos on a pen drive separately and asks you to wear a T-shirt under the life vest.

The other rides, cheapest first, are priced per machine too:

  • €70 — Atlantic Wake, 30 minutes from the Pasito Blanco marina in Maspalomas; a second person on the same jet ski adds €10.
  • €110 — Atlantic Wake, 60 minutes from the same marina; a second person adds €20.
  • €120 — Canary WaterSports' one-hour coastal safari along the south-west coast with an instructor riding alongside, one person on the machine.
  • €130 — the same safari with two of you on the machine.

Booked the jet ski safari and had a fantastic experience. Tour guide took many pictures (almost 200) and in the end had the offer to buy all of them for only €20.00. Highly recommended and is a very long experience for the price and value.

FAQ

Is the price per person or per jet ski?
Per jet ski. €60 is the machine for 25 minutes at Puerto Rico and €70 with a second rider on it; €70 is the machine for 30 minutes at Pasito Blanco, where a second person adds €10, €110 for the hour, where a second person adds €20; and €120 is the machine for the 60-minute safari at Puerto Rico, €130 with a second rider. A single rider pays the whole rate on their own.
Do I need a licence or experience?
No previous experience is needed. Atlantic Wake states that it teaches everything necessary on the spot, and the Puerto Rico circuit runs with a guide in the water with you. Neither operator states a licence requirement; you are briefed before the machine is handed over.
How long do the rides last?
Four lengths are sold: 25 minutes on the Puerto Rico circuit, a 60-minute safari from the same harbour, and 30 or 60 minutes from Pasito Blanco. Be at the Puerto Rico harbour kiosk 15 minutes before your slot — the clock is the time on the water, not the time you arrive.
Are photos and transport included?
At Atlantic Wake both are: the photos are free of charge and transport is included for clients subject to availability when booked in advance. At Canary WaterSports the price covers the vest, guide, fuel, insurance and fees, while photos on a pen drive are an extra and no transfer is stated.
Can children ride?
All four rides cap the jet ski at two people, so a child can only go as the second person on the same jet ski with an adult. Neither operator publishes a minimum age, so we confirm it with them for your booking rather than guess.

Gran Canaria sells jet skis from two harbours on the south coast, Puerto Rico and Pasito Blanco, and the harbour does not decide what kind of ride you get: the short guided loop and the long coastal route both leave from Puerto Rico.

What kind of ride can you book?

The Puerto Rico circuit is a marked loop in sheltered water with a guide, 25 minutes, which is why it suits people who have never touched a throttle. From the same harbour Canary WaterSports runs an hour-long safari along the south-west coast with an instructor riding alongside. Atlantic Wake goes out along the Maspalomas coast from Pasito Blanco in half-hours and hours and teaches on the spot: no previous experience is needed.

What does it come to each if two of you share a machine?

Because the rate is per machine, a solo rider pays the full amount and a pair splits it. Two riders sharing at Pasito Blanco pay €80 for half an hour, that is €40 each; the same pair on the hour pays €130, or €65 each. One person alone on the hour still pays €110. If there are four of you, book two machines and the per-head figure stays the same.

What do you pay for on top?

Fuel, insurance, fees and taxes sit inside both operators' prices, so no harbour surcharge waits at the desk. What differs between the two is everything around the ride itself.

  • Photos: Atlantic Wake includes them free of charge, Canary WaterSports sells them separately.
  • Hotel pick-up: Atlantic Wake can collect you when availability allows, so name your hotel when you book.
  • Clothing: Canary WaterSports asks you to wear a T-shirt under the life vest.

Important

Canary WaterSports asks you to be at the harbour kiosk 15 minutes before the ride starts.
