As part of my holiday, I went to Blue Water Diving to participate in a scuba diving for beginners activity. I can't recommend it more. Everyone was really friendly and helpful. The safety information was easy to digest and the team were there to explain every step. I was very nervous when I first got into the water but Eileen and one of the student divers were both so patient and helpful.

What is this tour like?

Blue Water Diving sits by the beach in Puerto Rico de Gran Canaria and holds 4.8 on Google from 300 reviews as of 3 September 2026. Its Discover Scuba is listed on the courses price list as 'Training and Sea Dive' for €90 — that is, not a pool-only taster, but a session in shallow water followed by a real dive in the sea.

The price list does not itemise what is and is not included, so we quote only what it says: €90, a 10% discount when booking online, and no deposit required. Reviewers describe first-ever dives to around 11 metres for roughly 40 minutes, with instructors waiting on the surface with nervous beginners until they are ready. The site is English-only, so we list English as the confirmed service language.

“I did my first ever open water off-boat scuba dive with Blue Water Diving, and thrilled to say I loved every moment of it. The team was very supportive, guiding and reassuring, I felt very calm, relaxed and safe with them. I dived 11.5 meters for roughly 40 minutes; instructions were clear and reassuring enough for a complete beginner. I'm proud to say I have found a new hobby.”

“Highly recommended Blue Water Diving. Team are very friendly, welcoming and most of all professional. Dive sites were great and spotted some things I really thought I wouldn't see here in Gran Canaria.”

“My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of completing our Advanced Open Water Diver course and Enriched Air Diver (Nitrox) certification with Blue Water Diving last week, and we couldn't be happier with our experience! From start to finish, everything went perfectly smoothly. Our instructor, Matilde, was truly outstanding – professional, deeply knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind.”
