The dive centres of Sharm price a day so closely that price alone will not choose for you: most of the boat days sit between €80 and €100. What actually separates them is where they are, how big they are, what language the briefing is in, and how much of the day is inside the number.

Why do districts matter more than they look?

Sharm's dive centres cluster in four places. Hadaba and Ras Um Sid sit on the headland right next to the national park — Circle, Shark Divers, Anar, Aqua Sharm, Nemo, Dive In — which shortens the run to Ras Mohammed.

Naama Bay is the middle of town: Camel and Dolphin. Nabq is the northern strip, further from the park but next to the kite lagoons: Aquarius, Mr. Diver, Sea College at Al Montaza. El Maya and El Kheima, west of the headland, are where shore diving happens: The Wave and Story Divers.

Who includes the hotel transfer?

If your hotel is in Nabq and your centre is in Hadaba, the transfer is not a detail. Seven centres include hotel transfers in the day rate — Sea College, Aqua Sharm, Dolphin, The Wave, Reef Oasis, Story Divers, Aquarius — and Mr. Diver includes transport in the package.

Size: 147 reviews or 2,860 — what does it tell you?

The spread is nearly twenty to one, and neither end is automatically better. Cinderella Eldawley, at 4.9 from 2,860 reviews, is one of the busiest operations in town, which usually means daily departures and a full boat. Aqua Sharm holds 5.0 from 147 reviews — a small centre whose rating has held rather than a big one that has averaged out. Read the number of reviews as a description of the operation, not as a score.

What language is spoken on the boat?

This is the difference that a price table hides. Anar Dive Center works in Russian, English, Turkish and Italian, with the instructor named — Anar Huseyn — and a divemaster, Aynur, also teaching in Russian. Dolphin Diving Center works in Russian and English. Story Divers works in English and German, and the German pages are written by the operator itself. Dive In works in English and Italian. The other centres in the table list English only.

What is inside the day, centre by centre

Guide, 12-litre tank and weights are nearly universal. Beyond that: lunch is included on full days at Sea College and Reef Oasis and by Mr. Diver, sold at 13 €/day by Story Divers and €10/day by Aqua Sharm. Nitrox is free at Story Divers (32 %, certified divers), included at Mr. Diver and at Camel.

Taxes are included by Dolphin and Story Divers and added by Aqua Sharm (14 %) and Reef Oasis (10 %). Park and jetty fees are included by Mr. Diver. And The Wave's shore day at €70 carries no boat fee at all, because there is no boat.

The outliers are worth naming: Sea College at €85, with hotel transfers, tanks and lunch on full days, Circle Divers at €96 for a fixed two-dive package, and Shark Divers' €155 Zodiac day, which swaps the day boat for a small fast one.

How do you choose without over-thinking it?

Pick the district that matches your hotel, then the inclusion that matters most to you — transfers, lunch, nitrox, fees inside the price — and only then compare the numbers. On a boat day the spread between Cinderella at €80 and Story Divers at €100 is €20 before extras, and the extras can move a booking by more than that.

District first, then the inclusion that matters to you, then the numbers. Between €80 and €100 for a boat day there is €20 before extras — and transfers, lunch, nitrox, fees and VAT can move a booking by more than that.
