Nha Trang sells diving by the day, not by the dive. The boats leave the harbour between seven and half past seven in the morning, work two or three sites inside the bay, feed you between tanks and are back at the pier soon after one. What differs between operators is how many tanks fit into that day, how many divers share one guide, and — this matters more than it sounds — how the price is worded on the page.
Eight Nha Trang operators publish a price for a diving day. Below is what each of them charges, in the wording used on their own pages, read on 4 September 2026.
The short arithmetic. Two dives with a guide cost 70–95 USD in Nha Trang. A single dive in a join-in group is 50 USD. Three dives packed into one day cost 100 USD, about 33 USD a tank; only Vietnam Active goes lower, at 90 USD for three dives — 30 USD a tank.
What does a day of diving in Nha Trang cost?
The table compares the standard product of each centre: a day out for a diver who already has a certificate.
| Operator | Day out | Price | How the page words it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vietnam Active | Fun Diving Hon Mun, 2 dives | 70 USD (90 USD for 3) | «$70 for 2 Dives» — a package; the page does not say «per person» |
| Sailing Club Divers | 1 Day – 3 Dives | 100 USD | «1 Day – 3 Dives · 100 USD» |
| Vietnam Fantastic | Fun diving, join-in, 1 dive | 50 USD (70 USD for 2) | «US$ 50/pax» |
| VictorDivePro | Fun dive, 2 dives | 95 USD | «95$ per person», written in Russian |
| Russian Divers Team | Fun diving Standard, 2 dives | 80 USD for certified divers (90 USD for the Standard package) | no unit on the page |
| divenhatrang.ru | 2 dives of 50 minutes, certified | 75 USD | no unit on the page |
| DIVE FOR YOU | 2 dives, certified | 80 USD | no unit on the page |
| AKSENOV SCUBA DIVING | Diving for certified divers | 75 USD | no unit on the page |
Six of the eight pages never write whether the number is for one diver or for the whole booking. On a product sold one-to-one that usually means one diver, but it is the first thing worth asking in the booking message. Two operators leave no doubt: Vietnam Fantastic writes /pax after every figure and VictorDivePro writes za cheloveka — per person — in plain Russian.
What is inside the price?
More than most people expect. Vietnam Active's 70-USD day covers the tanks and the rest of the kit including a dive computer, all marine park and diving fees, a certified PADI instructor or divemaster, food and drinks on board, hotel pick-up, nitrox on request and international diving insurance.
The Sailing Club Divers package at 100 USD covers the instructor or divemaster, the marine park fee, all equipment rental, lunch, water, tea, coffee and fresh fruit, plus a freshwater shower on the boat. Its transfer clause is narrower than it first reads: hotel pick-up is included only if the hotel stands in the centre of Nha Trang.
Vietnam Fantastic's join-in day includes the road to the port, the boat to Mun Island, equipment, the divemaster, the island and conservation-area entrance fee, a snack and insurance — but the page lists VAT and drinks with the meal as not included, and that is the one line people skip.
How many divers to one guide?
This is where the prices stop looking similar. Sailing Club Divers writes «maximum 3 divers with 1 PADI certified instructor or divemaster». Vietnam Active says «we only dive in small groups — 3 maximum». VictorDivePro goes to two: up to two clients per instructor. Vietnam Fantastic sells the day as a join-in trip and puts no cap on the page.

So the 50-USD dive and the 95-USD dive are not the same product wearing different price tags. One is a place on a shared boat, the other is a guide with one buddy pair and nobody else.
Do the multi-day packages pay off?
On its dive-trips page Sailing Club Divers publishes a ladder of four: 100 USD for one day and three dives, 130 for two days and four dives, 180 for three days and six dives, 240 for four days and eight dives.
Divide it out and the tank price drifts slowly down — 33 USD on the first step, 32.50 on the second, 30 on the third and the fourth. The home page of the same site carries a different ladder for packages of the same names, so confirm the current one with the centre when you book.
The discount is real but small: four days running take the tank from 33 to 30 USD, about a tenth. What a multi-day package mainly buys is spread — different sites, a rest interval, a second chance at visibility — with the saving as a bonus.
Where do the boats actually go?
Sailing Club Divers names seven sites in Nha Trang bay: Madonna Rock, Dam Bay, Lobster Cave, the Ship Wreck, Big Wall, Cemetery and the Hidden Wall. Vietnam Active works Hon Mun, Hon Tam and Dam Bay. VictorDivePro does not name the site in advance at all and says the point is chosen on the day by weather, current and visibility.
That last sentence is the honest description of the whole bay. The outer rocks are exposed; the inner bays are not.
Which months are the good ones?
Sailing Club Divers says it runs diving and snorkelling trips in Nha Trang bay every day throughout the year. The same operator's page on Madonna Rock says the best time to dive that particular rock is generally between April and October. Both statements can be true: the boat goes out, the outer site may not be on the menu.
Vietnam Fantastic writes the rule down explicitly — in bad weather the trip moves from Mun Island to the nearer coral reef. If your reason for coming is Hon Mun itself, that swap is the risk you are carrying.
Questions people ask before booking
Do I need a certificate?
No. Vietnam Fantastic takes non-certified divers for 55 USD per pax for one dive and 75 for two, divenhatrang.ru charges 85 USD for two dives and VictorDivePro 95 USD per person, also for two.

From what age?
Vietnam Fantastic accepts non-certified divers from 6 years and certified divers from 8. divenhatrang.ru takes children from 8. VictorDivePro sets 10 as the floor.
Is equipment rented separately?
At the operators that publish their inclusions the full set is inside the price, and Vietnam Active goes further by naming the dive computer. AKSENOV SCUBA DIVING does not list equipment among its inclusions — ask before you pay.
When am I back at the hotel?
Early. Vietnam Fantastic ends the trip at 13:30, divenhatrang.ru returns around 13:00, Vietnam Active is at the harbour about 14:00 and Sailing Club Divers gets in at 14:20. A diving day in Nha Trang eats the morning and gives the afternoon back.
How long before a flight?
The two operators who publish a number disagree: Vietnam Fantastic writes 12 to 18 hours, divenhatrang.ru writes 24. Take the longer one and plan the last dive at least a day before the flight.
Updated 4 September 2026. Prices, durations, group limits and inclusions are taken from the operators' own pages as published on that date; where a page does not state the unit of the price, that is said in the text rather than guessed.
