A half-day at Hon Mun for divers who already hold a certification: pick-up between 07:15 and 07:30, road transfer to the port and a boat to the island, back by 13:30. Good to know
- People trying scuba for the first time, from 10 years old, who want a Russian-speaking instructor and a group of no more than two.
- Beginner. No certificate and no experience required; the depth is capped at 12 metres and the instructor stays with you the whole dive.
- Swimwear, a towel and sun protection. Equipment, the briefing and a light breakfast and lunch on the boat are provided.
- Certified divers who want one or two dives at Hon Mun and their afternoon back by half past one.
- A valid diving certification is required and the minimum age is 8. The dives are guided by a dive master or instructor.
- Your certification card, swimwear, a towel and sun protection; the equipment and insurance come from the operator, and money for drinks with lunch.

Vietnam Fantastic and VictorDivePro price per diver. Vietnam Active prices the package instead — $70 for 2 dives, $90 for 3 — and several centres quote a bare figure, so ask which of the two you are being given before you agree a date.
How many divers share the guide?
Group size varies more than the price does.

Where do the boats dive?
The sites repeat: Hon Mun, Dam Bay, Hon Tam, Madonna Rock, Lobster Cave and a wreck. The diving is shallow and unhurried — VictorDivePro's beginner dives go to 12 metres and last 35 to 40 minutes, Vietnam Active's run 50 to 60, divenhatrang.ru's 30 to 50. Hon Mun or Dam Bay is decided at departure, by the weather, the current and the visibility.
When is the season?
Sailing Club Divers runs trips in the bay every day of the year, and on Madonna Rock the best months are generally April to October. If your dates fall in winter, ask the school about the state of the sea for those days.
What is included, and what is not?
Sailing Club Divers gives hotel transfers for central hotels, instructor or divemaster, the marine park fee, lunch, water, tea, coffee, fruit, all equipment rental, and a toilet and fresh-water shower on board. Vietnam Fantastic includes road transport to the port, the boat to Mun Island, the conservation-area fee, lunch, insurance and equipment.
divenhatrang.ru includes the transfer, tea, coffee, fruit and lunch on a roomy two-deck boat, photo and video apart; VictorDivePro leaves out photo, video and pick-up from outlying hotels. Russian Divers Team asks for booking at least a day ahead over WhatsApp.
