Are hotel transfers included?

Speedboat day trips from Samui: Ang Thong or Koh Tao

Which of the two days should you take?

Samui has two popular speedboat day trips, both at ฿2,300 per person. Ang Thong Marine Park is an hour and a half west, a national park of forty-two islands; the Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan trip is a ninety-minute run north.

Both boats leave Bangrak pier around 09:00–09:45 and are back by 16:30, both with hotel pickup at 08:00–08:30. Choose Ang Thong for Emerald Lake and kayaking; choose Koh Tao for the sandbar over Nang Yuan and pure snorkelling.

How much cash do you need for the entry fee?

Ang Thong charges ฿300 for the national park; Koh Nang Yuan charges ฿250 for adults and ฿120 for children. Neither is in the tour price, and both are collected on the day, so carry the notes with you rather than a card.

Is there a minimum group size?

Both tours run with any group size from one guest to thirty-eight. A couple pays the full ฿2,300 each and the boat sails. If your group is larger, you all pay the same per-person rate, so a family of four or six pays more in total but the same amount each.

What is included in the price?

Hotel transfer, light breakfast on the way, Thai buffet lunch, fruit, water, snorkel gear and life vest come with the price. Ang Thong also provides kayaks. Everything on the boat and on the island is covered except the entry fee.

Important

the entry fee is the one thing you settle in cash on the day — set it aside when you plan the trip.
