FAQ
Is the price per person?
What is included in a snorkelling day?
Do I need to know how to swim, and can children come?
Where does the boat go?
What happens if the weather is bad?
Are there afternoon or sunset departures?
Every boat here works the same water — Hon Mun, Hon Tam, Dam Bay, Hon Mot — so what you are choosing is how the day is filled, what the unit on the price tag means and what the operator leaves outside the fare.
Snorkelling only, or snorkelling plus an attraction?
The narrow version is snorkelling and nothing else: Vietnam Active gives 60 to 90 minutes at each of two islands, VictorDivePro takes you to two sites and says the trip suits anyone from six years old and that you do not need to be able to swim, because the vest keeps you on the surface.
The wide version bolts an attraction onto the boat: Vietnam Fantastic's Deluxe tour ends at the Hon Tam mud bath, its Fantastic tour adds fishing with the operator's tackle and SUP or kayak time at Mini Beach and runs half an hour longer, to 15:30.
Is the price per person or for the whole boat?
Read the unit before you compare. Vuongland prints 'Adult: 600.000đ/person', about $23, and Vietnam Fantastic prints '/pax', so those multiply by headcount; VictorDivePro writes 45 USD per person for two sites.
Vietnam Active, divenhatrang.ru, DIVE FOR YOU and Lily Yacht give the figure without a unit, and the Lily Yacht label names a shared trip rather than a price per head — ask which it is when you book, because on a five-hour catamaran listed for thirty guests the two readings are very far apart.
What does the weather change?
The weather changes the route and even the boat you sail on. At Vuongland the day decides whether you go out on the speedboat or on the wooden boat.
Vietnam Fantastic publishes a clause for both its trips, and for the Deluxe day spells out the swap — in bad weather the outer Hon Mun is replaced by the nearer coral reef. VictorDivePro decides between its two sites on the morning by weather and visibility.
What sits outside the fare?
Practicalities differ more than the itineraries, so check these before you book:
- Vietnam Fantastic picks up downtown only, and its Deluxe day leaves VAT and drinks with the meal outside the fare, with the Mini Beach water attractions paid by the guest on the Fantastic tour.
- Vuongland's fare already contains travel insurance and admission fees.
- Lily Yacht — agree what the fare covers and which pier you board at when you book.
- divenhatrang.ru boards at the Nha Trang pier at 07:30 and charges photo and video separately.
Important
treat the island names on any of these programmes as the plan rather than the promise, and keep a spare day if a particular reef is the reason you came.
