Discover Scuba Diving with Vietnam Active — two dives for beginners
A first day underwater without a licence: two dives at two different sites, no more than two guests per instructor. $100 per person with equipment, dive computer, all fees, food and hotel transfer.
Phu Quoc, Vietnam · $100 per person · EN
Did my Advanced Open Water Diver and Nitrox Certifications with instructor Thinh after not having dived for 7 years. He made me feel so safe and secure. Our class was small. Just three students for one instructor. Thinh is highly skilled and very calm as an instructor. His instructions are very clear and he is a great teacher. If you're looking for a full-service dive centre where you will get excellent training, I think Vietnam Active won't disappoint you.
What is this tour like?
Discover Scuba Diving is the PADI programme for people who have never used a tank. Vietnam Active runs it as a full day: hotel pick-up between 7:30 and 8:30, then the boat, a briefing, and two dives at two different sites. The ratio is strict — a maximum of two guests per instructor — so the instructor is next to you the whole time. Everything happens in the south of the island, where the centre uses the An Thoi group.
The $100 covers high-quality equipment including a dive computer, all fees, a fully certified PADI divemaster, coffee, tea, water and food aboard the boat, and hotel pick-up and drop-off. Two things the centre asks you to note before booking: you have to check the medical questionnaire, and after scuba diving you cannot fly for 12 to 18 hours. Vietnam Active is a PADI 5 Star centre with 5.0 on Google from 1,278 reviews as of 4 September 2026, and works in English.

“We had an incredible diving experience with Nico Sessario from Argentina. He is an amazing instructor n extremely knowledgeable, professional, and at the same time so much fun to dive with. He made us feel completely comfortable and safe throughout. On top of that, he captured some truly amazing photos for us. We did two dives with him, and both were unforgettable. Highly recommend diving with Nico!”
“It was a wonderful adventure for me as a first timer in scuba. We've seen many beautiful fishes and corals and other seabed inhabitants near little Hòn Kim Quy island just south of Phú Quốc. The opening briefing before we started was quite simple even for those who never dived in their life. Guys on the boat worked as a team and were very helpful and friendly to us. Our scuba master Khoa is a professional and skillfully guided us throughout all our dives, checked our condition and maked sure we won't be lost. The water was clear by the way and the weather was great. I enjoyed my adventures very much, definitely one of the strongest good memories about the Island and Vietnam.”
