I recently had an amazing diving experience with All4Diving in Phuket. Even though we hit bad weather and murky water with low visibility, Ito made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. His teaching style is detailed, patient and deeply responsible — he went over every safety protocol and skill before we got into the water.

What is this tour like?

Three dives at the Phi Phi Islands and Shark Point for certified divers, on the operator's own 25-metre boat MV All4 Explorer. ฿3,900 per person, transfers, breakfast and lunch included; the ฿600 marine park fee is paid in cash on board. The boat leaves Chalong pier at 08:30 and is back at the pier around 18:30.

The Phi Phi Islands are not part of Phuket. They belong to Krabi province and lie two and a half to three hours away by boat, which is why this is a full day rather than a morning out: pickup starts at 07:00, the boat leaves Chalong at 08:30, and the hotel drop-off follows the pier arrival at around 18:30.

Three dives are made. Two are at Phi Phi itself; the third is at Shark Point or, when the wet season makes that site awkward, at Koh Dok Mai. The schedule shifts with the weather, and the operator says so plainly on its own timetable.

MV All4 Explorer is licensed for seventy passengers but the operator deliberately limits fun divers to thirty-five, and to forty over the Christmas and New Year fortnight. There is an air-conditioned lounge, a covered upper deck, two toilets and two freshwater showers.

You need a certification card. Equipment rental is not in the price: ฿800, or ฿500 booked online. The Phi Phi marine park fee of ฿600 per diver is collected in cash on board.

What are the highlights?

  • Three dives in one day — Phi Phi plus Shark Point or Anemone Reef
  • The operator's own boat, licensed for 70 but capped at 35 fun divers
  • Guide ratio of at most four divers to one divemaster
  • Free pickup from Patong, Karon, Kata, Kamala and Chalong
  • A PADI five-star centre working on Phuket since 1995, TAT licence 31/01210

What should you know before you go?

Who it’s for
Certified divers only — bring your card. Non-divers can join as snorkellers for ฿2,600.
Level
Local rules do not allow first-time divers at the Phi Phi sites; the dives are in open water where entries and exits can be harder than at the sheltered Racha bays.
What to bring
฿600 in cash for the marine park fee, reef-friendly sun cream, and your certification card.
Meeting point
Free hotel pickup in Patong, Karon, Kata, Kamala and Chalong from 07:00; the boat leaves Chalong pier at 08:30. Chalong pier is on Phuket, but the dive sites are not — the Phi Phi Islands belong to Krabi province, two and a half to three hours away by boat. The operator's two centres are at 153/4 Rat Uthit Song Roi Pi Rd in Patong and 88/32 Patak Road in Chalong.

FAQ

Do I need a diving certificate?
Yes. The day trips are for certified divers and you must bring your card. Beginners are also not permitted to dive the Phi Phi sites under local rules; if you have never dived, start with an introductory dive at the Racha islands instead.
Are the Phi Phi Islands part of Phuket?
No. They belong to Krabi province and are two and a half to three hours away by boat from Chalong. That is the reason the day runs from a 07:00 pickup to a 19:00 drop-off.
What does the day cost in total?
฿3,900 for the three dives, plus the ฿600 park fee in cash on board, plus gear rental if you need it — ฿500 booked online, ฿800 otherwise. Nitrox, a dive computer or a private guide are extra and optional.
How many divers are on the boat?
The boat is licensed for seventy passengers, but the operator caps fun divers at thirty-five, and at forty over the Christmas and New Year holidays. In the water the ratio is at most four divers to one divemaster.
Which three sites will we dive?
Two dives at the Phi Phi Islands and one at Shark Point. During the wet season the Shark Point dive may be moved to Koh Dok Mai, and the whole schedule can change for weather — the operator states this on its own timetable.
Can a non-diver come along?
Yes. A non-diver or snorkeller pays ฿2,600 per person, which includes a full snorkelling set, and the Phi Phi park fee is ฿400 for them instead of ฿600.
Is there a place to get out of the sun?
Yes — an air-conditioned lounge on the lower deck and a large covered seating area on the upper deck, plus a sun deck with mattresses for those who want the opposite. There are two toilets and two freshwater showers.
When do I have to pay?
Full payment is required at least two days before departure. Between 20 December and 15 January, if you are booking two days or less ahead, check availability with the operator first.
Does this trip run all year?
The operator publishes Phi Phi departures all year, and we check the schedule for your dates before booking. November to May is the calmer half of the year.
What should I bring?
Your certification card, sun cream — reef-friendly, the operator asks for this specifically — sunglasses, a towel, and cash for the ฿600 park fee plus any extras and tips.

“Had a great experience. Huge thanks to instructor Davy and DM Pae — patient, attentive and professional. They guided us carefully throughout the training and my girlfriend completed her AOW; we also enjoyed some fun dives. The only downside was that the weather made us repeat the same sites, Racha Yai and Phi Phi, so there was less variety than we hoped — but we understand safety comes first.”

“Completed my EFR and Rescue Diver course with All4Diving. The course was held at the Chalong branch and the pickup from Patong was on time thanks to Philip. Paul was my instructor for both courses and made the three days full of fun and laughter while being highly knowledgeable. The pool facility was big and clean.”
