What is this tour like?
A first dive in the sea, not a pool — two dives from the day boat with an instructor beside you the whole time. From ฿5,900 per person with equipment, transfers and food included; minimum age ten. Pickup starts at 07:15 and the boat runs to Racha Yai, Racha Noi or Phi Phi.
This is the introductory programme, not a course and not a certified dive. It exists for people who want to find out whether diving is for them before committing three days and ฿17,400 to an Open Water course.
The theory is deliberately short and practical: adjusting the equipment, equalising, breathing, moving and orienting underwater. Then you go in — twice, at easy sites with coral and plenty of fish, under the full supervision of a dive leader.
You are picked up at your hotel in the morning and taken to the dive centre in Chalong, where you meet your instructor and are fitted with equipment. The briefing continues on the boat during the run out.
Two honest caveats. You do not have to be a strong swimmer, but the operator does not recommend the programme for people who cannot swim at all. And local rules do not allow first-time divers at the Phi Phi sites, so on a Phi Phi day your dives are arranged accordingly.
What are the highlights?
- Two dives in the open sea, not two lengths of a hotel pool
- Dive equipment rental is inside the price — beginner courses always include it
- An instructor with you the whole dive, under full supervision
- You join the regular day boat, so the day feels like a real dive trip
- Free pickup from Kamala, Patong, Karon, Kata, Nai Harn, Rawai and Chalong

“Just dived three days with Sea Bees out of Phuket — an open water refresher with Catri followed by two dives at Racha Noi and Racha Yai, then five dives for the Advanced Open Water. Catri was supportive of our respective levels: the other two had not dived in twenty years. Both instructors were helpful with equipment and all round great to dive with.”
“Sea Bees is awesome. Did a day dive trip and was not expecting what we got — breakfast and lunch were included on the boat and were delicious. Great diving and great dive masters. Great operation.”
