Valencia Kitesurf Course — Kitezone

A great school for learning and progressing. I contacted them for a class after a beginner course in Tarifa and it was much more productive than I expected.

With my plans cancelled one summer, what better way to spend it than learning to kitesurf? A friend recommended them and I’m so glad I signed up.

FAQ

Why do the two options differ so much in price?
They are different products. The kitesurf entry is a ten-hour course at €390 per person, spread over several sessions with theory and safety. The other is a single two-hour windsurf class at €50 with Ocean Republik, which also teaches wingfoil, surf and SUP at prices quoted separately.
Which one suits a complete beginner?
Both start from zero, but they ask for different commitments. Two hours of windsurf or wingfoil fit into a holiday afternoon. The ten-hour kite course is a plan for several days and aims at getting you riding independently.
How many people are in a class?
Small groups. The kite course takes up to two students, the windsurf and wingfoil class up to four. That keeps the instructor within earshot, which matters more here than in most water sports.
Where do the lessons take place?
On the city beaches and at the Marina de València, with rigging done a few steps from the water. By car the marina is about fifteen minutes from the city centre, seventeen from Malvarrosa, nineteen from El Saler and twenty-one from the airport.

Kite and wing in Valencia: an afternoon or a course

Two hours or ten?

The short way in is a two-hour windsurf class at €50 per person. The long way is a ten-hour kitesurf initiation course at €390 per person, spread over several sessions with theory and safety.

Is the price per person or per group?

Two hours fit into a holiday afternoon; the kite course is a plan for several days aimed at getting you riding independently. Groups stay small — up to four students in the class, up to two on the kite course.

Important

both prices are per person, not per group — and the €50 buys the windsurf class. Ocean Republik also teaches wingfoil, surf and SUP, but those are quoted separately, so do not read the €50 across.

How do the two options compare?

Two ways in: a two-hour class or a full initiation course.
