Tip
if you want a hull to yourselves rather than a seat, the beach catamaran off Palm Jumeirah is AED 350 (about $95) for the boat for an hour, up to four adults.
The price covers the skipper and crew, soft drinks and light bites, plus snorkel gear and sun-nets for the anchor stop in a calm bay. Hotel transfers, alcohol and gratuities are extra.
Board at the El Mundo berth in Dubai Marina at 16:30; the swim and snorkel stop comes at 17:10, and you're back by 19:00. The skipper and crew speak English, Russian and Arabic.
